The Penedès is one of Catalonia's most traditional wine regions, located southwest of Barcelona, nestled between the cities of Barcelona and Tarragona. Gentle hills, expansive vineyards, and small villages characterize this unique area, which stretches down to the Mediterranean Sea. Here, nature and culture blend seamlessly and effortlessly.
Our house is located in the heart of the Penedès region. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views across the rolling landscape, which has its own unique charm in every season. At the same time, the Mediterranean Sea is not far away: the beaches of the Catalan coast can be reached in about 25 kilometers. Barcelona and Tarragona are also easily accessible in about an hour each and are perfect for day trips.
The Penedès region is internationally renowned, especially for its wines and Cava, which has been produced here for generations. Many of the wineries now operate organically or sustainably and open their doors to visitors.
Tastings, guided tours through the vineyards, and conversations with the winemakers are among the best ways to get to know the region.
But Penedès is more than just wine. The regional cuisine, characterized by fresh, seasonal ingredients, reflects both the proximity to the sea and the agricultural traditions of the hinterland. Local markets, small restaurants as well as traditional festivals and activities offer a glimpse into the authentic life of this special wine region.
